Ingredients
Liquid Base
- 1 cup Brewed hibiscus tea, cooled
- 1 cup Coconut water
- Juice of 1 lime
Fruits and Flavorings
- 1 cup Fresh or frozen pineapple chunks
- Ice cubes (as needed)
Optional Garnish
- Fresh sage or mint leaves
Instructions
- Brew the Hibiscus Tea: Steep 2-3 hibiscus tea bags or loose hibiscus flowers in boiling water for 5-10 minutes. Cool the tea completely in the refrigerator before using.
- Blend Ingredients: Add the cooled hibiscus tea, pineapple chunks, coconut water, and lime juice to a blender. Add a handful of ice cubes to chill and create a frothy texture.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and all ingredients are well combined.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste your smoothie and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more lime juice or pineapple chunks if desired. Blend again briefly if additions are made.
- Serve and Garnish: Pour the smoothie into glasses and garnish with fresh sage or mint leaves for an aromatic touch. Enjoy immediately while cold and fresh.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen pineapple depending on availability; frozen will make the smoothie thicker and colder.
- If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add a natural sweetener like honey or agave syrup.
- For a vegan boost of protein, consider adding a scoop of plant-based protein powder or a tablespoon of chia seeds.
- Adjust the amount of ice cubes based on how chilled or thick you like your smoothie.
- Double the recipe for an easy batch to share or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; stir well before serving.
