Description

Enjoy a refreshing homemade version of Starbucks' Iced Mango Cream Matcha, blending vibrant matcha green tea with sweet mango syrup and creamy foam. This easy-to-make iced drink combines the smooth, earthy flavor of matcha with tropical mango and luscious cream for a delightful treat any time of day.

Ingredients

Mango Cold Foam:

  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 ½ tablespoons mango syrup
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk

Iced Mango Cream Matcha:

  • 3 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure matcha powder, sifted
  • 1 cup milk of choice (2% recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons mango syrup (or vanilla syrup)
  • Ice, as needed

Instructions

  1. Make the cold foam: In a small glass or jar, combine the heavy cream, 1 ½ tablespoons mango syrup, and whole milk. Use a milk frother to froth the mixture for 20-30 seconds until it becomes foamy and light in texture. Set this mango cold foam aside for topping later.
  2. Prepare the matcha: Pour 3 tablespoons of hot water into a microwave-safe jar or glass and heat until boiling, about 30-45 seconds in the microwave. Sift the pure matcha powder into the hot water to remove any lumps. Whisk the matcha and water together using a matcha whisk until smooth and slightly foamy. Set aside.
  3. Assemble the drink: Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in the cup of milk followed by 2 tablespoons of mango syrup. Stir the mixture well to combine the flavors evenly.
  4. Add matcha and mix again: Pour the prepared matcha into the glass with the milk and mango syrup. Stir once more to ensure all ingredients are well blended.
  5. Top with mango cold foam: Spoon the mango cold foam on top of the matcha mixture to finish your iced mango cream matcha drink. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a fine mesh strainer when sifting matcha to prevent clumps and achieve a smooth texture.
  • For a different flavor variation, substitute mango syrup with vanilla syrup.
  • The drink can be customized with any milk preference including dairy-free options like almond or oat milk.
  • If you do not have a milk frother, vigorously whisk the cold foam mixture or shake it in a sealed jar until frothy.
  • This recipe is best enjoyed fresh but can be refrigerated up to 2 hours if needed.
