Description

Enjoy a refreshing and vibrant Starbucks-inspired Iced Ube Coconut Cream Shaken Espresso made easily at home. This delightful beverage features rich espresso or cold brew shaken with coconut syrup and ice, topped with a luscious, velvety ube-flavored coconut cream cold foam. Perfect for a tropical twist to your regular iced coffee fix.

Ingredients

Coconut Ube Cold Foam

  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 ½ tablespoons coconut syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon ube extract

Iced Ube Coconut Cream Shaken Espresso

  • 2 oz espresso or 5 oz cold brew espresso
  • 2 tablespoons coconut syrup
  • Ice (as needed)
  • ½ cup oat milk or milk of choice

Instructions

  1. Make the cold foam: In a small glass or jar, combine the heavy cream, coconut syrup, and ube extract. Use a milk frother to froth the mixture until it becomes thick and foamy. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the shaken espresso: Fill a mason jar with ice, then add the espresso (or cold brew) and 2 tablespoons of coconut syrup. Secure the lid tightly and shake the jar several times until well mixed and chilled.
  3. Assemble the drink: Pour the shaken iced coffee along with the ice into a tall glass. Add the oat milk or milk of choice and gently stir if desired.
  4. Top and serve: Spoon the prepared ube coconut cold foam on top of the drink. Serve immediately and enjoy the creamy, flavorful iced beverage.

Notes

  • You can substitute the oat milk with almond milk, soy milk, or any preferred dairy or non-dairy milk.
  • If you don’t have ube extract, you can use natural ube flavoring or purple yam powder to get a similar taste and color.
  • Use freshly brewed espresso or cold brew concentrate for the best flavor and richness.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of coconut syrup to suit your taste.
  • For a dairy-free version, replace heavy cream with coconut cream when making the cold foam.
